Painting and decorating
If you left school recently,
or are about to, you're probably thinking about what to do next.

You can choose to do either an Apprenticeship or an Advanced Apprenticeship depending
on your qualifications
The following units make up the Diploma at Level 1:
- Carry out safe working practices in construction
- Information, quantities and communicating with others
- Building methods and construction technology
- Erecting and dismantling access equipment and working platforms
- Preparing surfaces for decoration
- Apply paint by brush and roller
- Apply foundation and plain papers
- Produce specialist decorative finishes
Working on the diploma in Painting and
Decorating at level 2 you will cover:
- Carry out safe working practices
- Information, quantities and communication with others
- Building methods and construction technologies
- Prepare surfaces for decoration
- Apply paint systems by brush and roller
- Apply standard papers to walls and ceilings
- Produce specialist decorative finishes
- Apply water-borne paint systems using high volume low
pressure spray equipment
- Erect and dismantle access equipment and working
platforms
If working on the diploma in Painting and
Decorating at level 3 you will cover:
- Carry out safe working practices
- Information, quantities and communication with others
- Building methods and construction technologies
- Erect and dismantle access equipment and working platforms
- Apply paint systems by brush and roller
- Apply hangings to walls and ceilings
- Produce specialist decorative finishes
- Carry out specialist architectural feature work
- Apply water-borne paint systems using high volume low
pressure spray equipment
- Prepare surfaces for decoration
- Apprenticeship Placements

- Why choose to do an Apprenticeship?
An Apprenticeship lets you work with an
employer whilst completing your course. So you get the best
of both worlds - a chance to earn money whilst gaining an
industry recognised qualification.
An Assessor will support you throughout
your training. You will attend our local Bristol based training centre on a
day release and your training can be adapted to suit you and
your employer. What's more we'll help you to find an
employer if you don't have one already.
If you don't have the qualifications,
experience or confidence to do an Apprenticeship straight
away you can do a
pre-apprenticeship
programme. working towards the Level 1 Diploma in
Painting and Decorating.
You will work towards nationally
recognised qualifications. We offer continuous support and
