Electrical Installation


If you left school, sixth form or college recently, or are about to, you're probably thinking about what to do next. An apprenticeship in Electrical Installation will give you an industry-recognised training, leading to great career opportunities, and will allow you to earn while you learn



Examples of occupational competence covered by Electrical Installation Advanced apprenticeships


  • Ensure safe electrical site working
  • Diagnose and correct electrical faults
  • Provide technical and functional information
  • Maintain a healthy and safe working environment
  • Install wiring systems
  • Install wiring enclosures and equipment
  • Connect safely wiring systems and equipment
  • Install second fix components
  • Inspect, test and commission an electrical installation

Examples of Occupational areas covered by Electrical Installation Advanced apprenticeships


  • Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures)
  • Electrotechnical Panel Building
  • Electrical Machine repair and rewind
  • Installing Instrumentation and associated Equipment
  • Maintenance of Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment
  • Installing Highway Electrical Systems
  • Installing high Tec alarm and CCTV systems

A training Advisor will support you throughout your training. You will attend a college training centre and your training can be adapted to suit you and your employer. We’ll even help you find an employer if you don’t have one already.


  • Qualifications

Depending on your qualifications and experience, you may complete either an apprenticeship or an Advanced Apprenticeship. We will complete a training needs analysis and initial assessment with you, and develop an Individual Learning Plan (ILP). From the assessment we can recommend suitable courses for you, including help with basic maths or English if required.
